Maca
In the Peruvian Andes, at altitudes of around 3000 - 4500 meters, grows an herb called Maca peruánská, Latin: Lepidium meyenii. In the Czech Republic, you may have noticed it under the name Řeřicha peruánská. However, it is most often referred to as Maca, "Maka" or also Peruvian or Brazilian Ginseng. The interesting thing is that Maca is the highest growing and cultivated plant in the world. In conditions where almost nothing else would survive, it thrives excellently.
For hundreds of years, it was consumed by the local tribes of indigenous Indians, including the legendary Incas. This is what is attributed to their longevity and vitality. In their diet, Maca served as a prevention of diseases, strengthened the body, and increased resistance to cold and weather changes. The ancient legend about Maca says that the God Viracochi allegedly gave it to mountain tribes to simplify their lives in inhumane high-altitude conditions. Which worked out extremely well.
The beneficial effects of Maca are still used by the entire modern world today. All its power is hidden in an ordinary root that at first glance resembles a beet. Let's talk about what substances it contains and how it affects the human body.
ACTIVE SUBSTANCES? MACA CONTAINS A RANGE OF THEM
Maca contains a total of 7 essential amino acids, which our body cannot produce on its own. Also very important are natural sterols, led by saponins, which have the ability to influence hormonal levels. Maca contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E. Also essential are trace elements, minerals, fiber, or tannins. Maca is literally a miracle for our body.
A LITTLE OF THE EXTRACT IS ENOUGH AND IMPROVEMENTS WILL NOT BE LONG IN coming
The 4:1 extract form in powder is advantageous because a really small amount is enough to start the effect. In total, this is 0.5 - 1 gram per day (1 - 2 measuring cups of 0.5 g). It is best to start with a smaller dosage and gradually increase your intake. This is the only way to ensure that all important substances are absorbed correctly. The effects should start to appear within 3-4 weeks. And how to take the powder? For example, we can mix it in 200 milliliters of water, add it to yogurt, or another of your favorite dishes. It all depends on your imagination.
SIDE EFFECTS
Don't worry. During the period of Maca use, no side effects that would be demonstrably harmful to the body have been recorded. A doctor's consultation is only necessary for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
