Graviola
A small, low tree, that's Graviola. We could also know it under the name Anona ostnitá, or the Latin name Anona muricata. However, Graviola is the best known and most used name. In terms of appearance, it is a 3-8 meter tall tree with a richly branched crown. We would easily identify it by its elongated shiny leaves, which remain green all year round. If we don't recognize it by its leaves, we can't be mistaken by its fruits. They are 20-30 centimeters long with soft spines. The indigenous people have their own name for the fruit - quanabana. The area of origin for Graviola is Central America. It most likely comes from the Caribbean Antilles or the northern part of South America. It is difficult to determine the place of origin, as Graviola is now widespread throughout the tropical and subtropical belt. We would encounter it in Africa, Asia or Oceania. This is mainly due to its effect on our organism, which was well understood by the civilizations that inhabited the areas where Graviola was found in pre-Columbian times. They used it as a medicine. To understand this, we need to talk about the effects.
COMPOSITION OF ANNON GRAVIOLA
If we look at the composition of substances found in Graviola, we won't be very wise. There are many pharmacologically significant substances here, but their names don't tell us anything. For example, they are Annocatalin, solamin, muriosolin and others. As we said, we can't read anything significant. However, together they create an effect that is very beneficial to us.
