Bacopa brahmi
Bacopa brahmi, or simply Brahmi – all these names refer to a small herb native to eastern India. Brahmi, which translates to "cosmic knowledge", has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for more than 3000 years, which undoubtedly testifies to its significant effects on the human body. Why should it definitely not escape your attention?
WHAT ACTIVE SUBSTANCES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UNIQUE PROPERTIES OF BRAHMI?
Brahmi contains a number of active substances that are pharmacologically significant. These include, for example, alkaloids, herpestin, saponins, but also bacoside. Among the better known ones, we can mention beta-sitosterol or flavonoids. The complex of these substances increases the efficiency of nerve impulse transmission, which positively affects the entire brain activity.
INCREASE YOUR DAILY DOSE GRADUALLY
Take 5 to 15 grams of crushed herbs daily. Ideally, start with a lower amount, which you can gradually increase. How to use crushed herbs? The best possible use is in the form of a decoction. To prepare it, 5 - 15 grams of crushed herbs and hot water are enough. Pour hot water over Brahmi and let it steep for 3 - 7 minutes. You should feel the first effects after two to three weeks.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Brahmi is considered generally safe to use. The exception applies only to people suffering from low blood pressure and pregnant or breastfeeding women, who should consult their doctor before using Brahmi.
