Chamomile
Also known as Chamomilla officinalis, it has found its application in many areas: medicine, cosmetics and aromatherapy. One could say that this plant has a universal effect on human ailments. Chamomile grows 15 to 50 cm and emits a pleasant aroma. The white petals of the flowers fall off soon after flowering, leaving a hollow, conically arched bed. Chamomile is found not only in Europe, but also in America and Australia.
COMPOSITION OF CHAMOMILE
Chamomile flowers contain valuable essential oils. But that's not all they contain. They also contain mucilage substances that support proper intestinal function, the fragrant substance coumarin, flavonoids, bitters and tannins.
SIDE EFFECTS OF CHAMOMILE
The side effects of chamomile are not known to mankind. Its use is highly safe. However, we recommend that pregnant and breastfeeding women consult their doctor if necessary.
DOSE OF CHAMOMILE
What is the ideal daily dose? In case of health problems, take 3 grams of whole dried flowers every day, which is about 1 tablespoon.
HOW TO USE CHAMOMILE
How to use Chamomile flowers? Remember that the flowers should never be boiled. Just pour 300 ml of boiling water over them and let the decoction stand for 15 minutes. Strain it and sip it.
SUITABLE COMBINATIONS
Chamomile gets along great with one well-known herb: Mint. If you suffer from stomach problems, combine Chamomile with Mint.
