Damiana
a shrub that we could also see under the name Turnera diffusa, which is its Latin name, but also Pastala rozprostřená (in Czech). From a botanical point of view, it is a shrub from the Passionflower family. Damiana thus resembles the scent of chamomile. It has small, smooth leaves, a strongly branched structure and blooms with yellow flowers. Turnera originates from southern North America, where it is also widely used. The ancient wise Mayans already knew about the aphrodisiac effects of Damiana. From them, it was taken over by the Spanish conquistadors, thanks to whom the plant reached Europe.
If we want to grow Damiana in our country, we must prepare for certain processes that its growth requires. However, we will be most interested in its effects and the substances responsible for them. So let's talk more.
WHAT DOES DAMIANA CONTAIN?
We can consider arbutin to be pharmacologically essential. Then there are damianin, tetraphyllin B, beta-sitosterol, beta-carotene, tannin, thymol and others. We would also come across caffeine, fatty acids, 22 flavonoid substances, antioxidants, but also apigenin.
TURNERY DOSAGE
The effects are of course associated with the correct dosage. In the case of the extract in capsules, which is not only more effective but also much easier to use, 1 capsule per day is sufficient.
HOW TO USE
Capsules have a great advantage in ease of use. Just drink the given dose with a sufficient amount of water - 200-300 milliliters.
POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS WITH DAMIANA
Damiana can be combined with, for example, Kola nitida. In this case, the metabolism is accelerated. Thanks to this, the effects come much faster. Another combination can be with Ginkgo biloba or Gotu kola. Both improve the effects on the brain.
SIDE EFFECTS
If the dosage is followed, no complications should occur. Use should be consulted with the following groups - pregnant and breastfeeding women, people suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes or cardiovascular problems.
